Past Projects
SilverStar Bike Park
SilverStar is now a World Class destination with over 125 km of trails. Cam and many of his team were instrumental in the expansion to the current Bike Park starting in 2005. Building everything from huge jump trails, learn to ride flow trails, tot run bike areas, wooden skill zones with technical trail features, pump tracks, and an extensive stacked loop XC network. Including a 35 km IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) Epic Trail, a designation that has a high standard which is a hard criteria to meet.
We worked closely with the SilverStar Patrol team on the risk management plan, including all aspects of the signage and emergency response. Cam was also involved with the marketing of SilverStar on an annual trips throughout Western Canada. He was the Bike Park Manager for over 15 years. This provided Cam and many of his team with a strong grasp of the summer operations and products at SilverStar Resort.
Foothills Trail- City of Vernon
This multi-use trail network is in the growing and expanding Foot Hills subdivision of Vernon, BC. Contour Trails has worked on three separate Phases in the Foot Hills. The City of Vernon commissioned Contour Trails to build and design the trail system which will link the community of the Foot Hills together. These projects will allow the children and families of the Foot hills to interconnect without entering the road system.
The trails are a wide crush path with Geo-Tech cloth underlay to prevent the trails from becoming over grown. The trails are wide enough to walk two abreast but still have a feeling of being in nature. They are a rolling contour design to help prevent water erosion and enhance the experience of walking or riding your bike to your neighbour’s back yard party.
Pump Tracks
Contour Trails excels in transforming spaces, from family backyard tracks to top-tier Velosolutions paved pump tracks. No project is too big or small—we specialize in creating dream playgrounds for bikes. Witnessing the pure joy on a child's face as they navigate their own backyard is a rewarding achievement. Riders progress at an accelerated rate with these types skill zones, pump tracks and dirt jumps in their backyards.
Collaborating with Velosolutions on paved pump tracks across Western Canada positions the Contour Trails team at the forefront of pump track design. If you aspire to elevate your pump track to world-class standards, we're eager to facilitate an exceptional track in your community or your persoanl property.
Our team led the construction of the Crankworx Summer series track at the Silver Star Bike Park, crafting a unique pump track for high-level racing. Three years on, this track remains a popular attraction for resort guests, showcasing the lasting impact of our quality workmanship. Choose Contour Trails for unmatched expertise and dedication to creating unforgettable biking experiences.
Ranger Route Trail- Monashee Provincial Park
Contour Trail is known for our skills building amazing mountain bike trails. But with our history in the resort world, we have had the privilege of building many hiking only trails throughout the area. When BC Parks approached us to re-route a section of trail in Monashee Provincial Park we jumped at the opportunity.
Within one of the most scenic parks in BC, this re-route replaced a very steep trail which lead from Spectrum Lake up to the main trail into Peters Lake. The changes doubled the length of trail while making the grade much more sustainable and enjoyable to hike. Still challenging, as most trails in this park are, the new Ranger Route was built in just over a week with a guest appearance from a couple of the crew that work with us on the Silver Star Trail Crew. We had to camp on site and haul all our gear out (fortunately we moved most our tools in on a helicopter the week before). Large sections of the trail are in old growth forest where the duff layer is deep in spots. It was one of the more grueling trails our team has built, but every one of us enjoy our time in the Monashee’s and look forward to hiking and camping at Spectrum Lake in the future.
Predator Ridge Resort
Contour Trails has skillfully designed and built an exceptional trail network with over 35km of trail, starting from scratch. Contour Trails has closely collaborated with the resort to consistently enhance their trail offerings. The trail system, recognized as the resort's top attraction by home-owners, stands as the #1 amenity and has become drawing card for tourism for the resort.
With the success of the initial trails, and guided by Contour Trails' expertise, the demand for more trails has become evident. Building on the triumph of the early trails, Contour Trails returns annually, pushing trail development to new heights every years starting with the first trail in 2016.
These trails cater to the avid mountain biker and hiker, offer a mix of professionally crafted trail, amidst challenging technical rock slabs, with little bits of tec and flow mixed into each trail. Designed to bring joy and excitement to every enthusiast that visits these trails.

Board Walks
Over the years, we've taken on a myriad of boardwalk projects, ranging from the straightforward to the intricate. These ventures have involved navigating turns, constructing landings, incorporating steps, and addressing challenges like proximity to water or remote locations. Each boardwalk presents a unique set of obstacles, but our team consistently rises to the occasion, delivering astounding results. The experience of strolling along a sinuous boardwalk through the ancient Monashee forest or alongside a creek prone to swelling, such as at the Cedar Bridge Waldorf School, holds a special allure."
In our recent endeavors, we found ourselves in the North Okanagan, where Cedar Bridge entrusted Contour Trails with a transformative project. We were tasked with designing and constructing a series of adaptive trails tailored to accommodate wheelchairs or push buggies for the school's children. This particular boardwalk needed to be expansive enough to facilitate the passage of children's groups, devoid of steps, and possess a gentle gradient suitable for those in wheelchairs. On the other end of the spectrum was Monashee Provincial Park, with remote and rugged terrain. Constructed through a winding old growth forest and soggy grounds, this project demanded an entirely different skill set. Fashioned from cedar to mitigate decay, we anticipate this boardwalk will endure long after our hikes through this remarkable park.
Work Shops
We love working with local communities and clubs to pass on our knowledge and passion for building sustainably built fun trails. Riders and the youth are eager to learn, get in the trenches and put that knowledge to good use. We find an evening classroom and then trail day in the field works best for helping people learn the techniques of good trail building. From the most knowledgeable builder to the "I've never picked up a shovel" can learn from a work shop. Heck if there is a work shop in the area we always attend. There is always something to learn from other builders.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort
Contour Trail had the privilege of working with RMR in the fall of 2018. The resort was working towards bringing Mountain Biking to their summer product. We were there to help RMR with the ground breaking of their newest addition to the resort. Their terrain and sheer beauty of the area has made them one of the best mountain bike destinations in BC.
Contour Trails signed a 2 year contract with RMR in 2019. The goal was to bring the resort into the competitive market of lift access mountain biking. RMR has taken a different look at the current model, with their alpine opportunities they have something to offer many resorts cannot.
Within their first year of operations they exceeded all expectation and the response to this new product was over whelming. We planned to return to Revelstoke but the onset of the Covid Pandemic in 2020 forced unprecedented changes in the hospitality industry.
